A Chicago television station just posted a video of the Sanfilippo Collection of automated music and coin operated arcade machines.

COCA members have an opportunity to visit the Sanfilippo Collection periodically as part of a special COCA tour of the Estate.

COCA 2010 Convention
The 2010 Convention will take place in Durham North Carolina on July 23 - 25, 2010. The convention will feature visits to the homes of seven collectors, room-to-room buying and selling, an auction, and a banquet.

November 2009 COCA Meeting
On Nov 13, 2009 COCA will hold its fall meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn in St. Charles, IL. A pre-meeting dinner is scheduled for 5:30 pm

COCA Meeting & Trip to Jaspers
The COCA President has announced plans for the April 3 COCA meeting that will take place in conjuction with the Chicagoland Slot/Juke Show.

After a short meeting COCA members and their guests will visit the Sanfilippo ‘Victorian Palace’, known worldwide for its magnificent collections of arcade and gambling machines, music machines, and the world’s largest theatre pipe organ. We will also tour the fabulous Eden Palais Carousel building.

This tour is only open to COCA members and their guests. All attendees will have to pre-register. Information on how to register is on the COCA Members Only web page and in the COCA magazine which will be sent to all members in March.


Nov 14 Meeting Minutes Now Available
The meeting minutes of the November 14 C.O.C.A meeting has been posted on the Special Features section of the CoinOpClub.org web site. The Special Features section is accessible only to Club members.


Slot Machine Photo Identification Web Site
A new slot machine photo identification web site has been added to the Members Only section of the CoinOpClub.org web site.

This site depicts photos of most slot machines made by Mills, Jennings, Watling, Caille and Pace.

These photos will help you identify your slot machine.

This new web site was developed by COCA member, Dave Burritt.

A new local gathering has been announced for early August in Phoenix, Arizona.

All COCA members are invited to attend.

Long time Slot Collector/Dealer to be Featured in Movie
Dick DeLong who has been collecting and restoring slots for over 40 years will have his collection of slots featured in a new movie, Little Chicago, currently be produced in Pennsylvania

The public portion of the C.O.C.A. web site will periodically feature the web sites and information provided by those people who place large display ads in the C.O.C.A Times Magazine.

The magazine goes to almost 600 members and features original articles and color photos.

Spring COCA Meeting
In conjunction with the upcoming Chicagoland show, our next meeting will be on Friday evening, April 4, 2008, at the Hilton Garden Inn.

This will be a dinner meeting; the cash bar will open at 5:30 and an Italian buffet dinner will be served from 6:00 until 6:30. This optional dinner will only cost $10 and includes meat or veggie lasagna, salad, bread and dessert.

All members and their guests are welcome for both the dinner and/or meeting.

Any donations for raffle door prizes would be greatly appreciated and should be directed to Marcia Blau (414-352-7623).

We hope to start the meeting at 6:30 and adjourn around 8:00.

We have again negotiated a special COCA member room rate for those that are interested in staying at the Hilton for both the spring and fall shows of $95 single and $98 double. Suites are available for $159. Members should call the hotel directly at 630-584-0700 to make reservations as there are a limited number of rooms available at this rate.




2008 Local Gatherings Announced

For the first six months of 2008, local gatherings are scheduled for North Carolina, California, Wisconsin and Ohio.

Local Gatherings in North Carolina & Ohio are a Success
September was a busy month for COCA members in Ohio and North Carolina. Local gatherings were held at the homes of Al and Carol Demetruk and Bill and Lyn Petrochuk. Close to 60 members and guests were able to join in the fun. Photos and more information are available on the members-only section of the COCA website.


New Exhibition on Mechanical Music & Automata
The Morris Museum in New Jersey announced that their new exhibition of mechanical music and automata will open November 6, 2007.

The next COCA Summer Convention in 2008 is scheduled for NYC and a private showing of the exhibition is scheduled.

MIlls Dice Slot Machine Sells in 24 hours
Recently a 25 cent Mills Dice Slot Machine was posted on the COCA Classified Ad web site. It sold in less than 24 hours. It was purchased by COCA member.

Several new ads are posted on the COCA web site every week. While only COCA member can view the classified ad section, anyone can post an ad.


Ebay Auction Prices for Trade Stimulators Updated
The special listing of Ebay Auction Prices for Trade Stimulators has been updated.

The listing also lists the books that contain photos of these trade stimulators. It also includes the Ebay photos.

This great resource that is updated every month is available in the Members-Only Special Features section.


Discussion Forums on the Web
The members only section of the COCA web site lists seven Discussion Forums that may be of interest to coin-op and gameroom collectors.

These discussion forums are in addition to the members only COCA Discussion Forum that went live a few weeks ago.


Members Only Discussion Forum Established
The Coin Operated Collectors Association has just established a new feature, a Members Only Discussion Forum.

The Discussion Forum will allow C.O.C.A. members to ask questions and share information with other C.O.C.A. members about coin machine collecting, internet scams, buying and selling tips, and many other topics of interest.


Trade Stimulator Photos
Trade Stimulator Photos have been added to the Photo Gallery section of the Members-Only part of the COCA web site. New photos will be added each month. Recent Ebay prices are also shown.


Trade Stimulator Repair
A new web site on the repair of trade stimulators has been added to the Members Only portion of the C.O.C.A. web site (Sources of Supply & Repair section). It details with lots of photos how to repair a trade stimulator.


C.O.C.A. Member Discounts
C.O.C.A. members are giving other C.O.C.A. members discounts. This new feature already offers free shipping on book orders and a substantial discount on an Online Slot Price Guide.

These discounts are available only to C.O.C.A. members and are shown on the Members Only Special Features section

A C.O.C.A. member has compiled an extensive list of the contents of many old coin machine magazines.

Back Issues of coin machine magazines frequently provide collectors with information that cant be found anywhere else.

This directory can be viewed in the Special Features section of the COCA web site. Only COCA Members can access the Special Features section.


AOL Users
Unfortunately, the COCA web site does not function with the AOL browser. You can dial into the internet with AOL, but will then have to launch another browser such as Internet Explorer to login into the C.O.C.A. site.
